The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills has recently launched a free online public procurement course: Winning the Contract.
It is aimed at helping smaller firms bid for the £220 billion of public sector contracts awarded each year.

Consultation on Proposals for a Next General Fund (January 2010)
This consultation is relevant for all stakeholders with an interest in Next Generation Access (NGA), including communications providers, network owners and consumers. The Digital Britain report set out an ambition to strengthen and modernise the country's communications infrastructure. The market in the UK is delivering NGA, but the market alone will not deliver beyond 60-70%. To correct this the Government has set up the Next Generation Fund. This consultation is aimed at identifying all the issues and evidence required to inform the delivery of the Fund. Response required by 1 April 2010.
